SS19 Trends We Are Embracing This Season

We have almost made it through January and we’re now looking forward to spring. I don’t know about you but we both generally find that the month of January is a bit of a drag (perhaps not for Katrin since she’s been enjoying travelling in stunning Cape Town) but in a general terms, January sucks! It’s a month of trying to get back on track after Christmas, you are skint and the weather is totally unpredictable. Although it is still winter, we are so looking forward to spring and we are especially looking forward to the spring/summer fashion trends. Although we are not girls who follow trends religiously and we wouldn’t class ourselves as fashionistas, we love checking out the latest catwalk trends and this year we feel like there are a lot of hot trends that we definitely will be embracing. We would probably say that we tend to dress in a pretty classic way, quite girly, nothing too crazy although we have no problem experimenting with fashion from time to time. For our style inspiration we turn to bloggers such as Josie Fear creator of Fashion Mumblr who’s style is so timeless and we have to say that we are obsessed with her wardrobes colour pallet.

Lately, we have started to really love dressing top to toe in tonal colours as they can be so flattering plus they are certainly insta friendly.

With that said, here are the trends from the Spring/Summer 19 shows that we are sure to embrace this season.

Be More Beige

Autumn, we've been expecting you. (1)

The colour beige is probably one of THE colours of the season and and judging by the catwalks and style Bloggers in the know the message was was clear, beige is the new black. Designers such as Emilia Wickstead, MaxMara and Burberry featured a spectrum of beige such as oatmeal, off white, biscuit tones and dusky almost pink tones. We love this trend as it is so timeless, effortless and chic. We will most certainly pair this trend with creamy whites and incorporate some pastel colours for summer.

Living Coral

Autumn, we've been expecting you. (4)

Pantone has named Living Coral the colour of the year and this may be the most talked about colour of the season. We expect that most of us will incorporate this trend into our wardrobe or into our make-up bag in one way or another this coming season. Tones of orange differing in vibrance is sure to brighten up your wardrobe and your mood. We will start with accessories such as shoes, bags and jewellery and wait until we look a little bit more sunkissed to wear it as a full outfit.

Pastel Dreams

Autumn, we've been expecting you.

If you have seen our instagram feed, you probably already know that we absolutely adore pastel shades. They are soft, feminine and romantic and suits our personalities down to a tea. Although wearing head to toe pastel shades can sometimes wash you out, we think pairing these tones with beige and off-white tones and even stronger tones such as coral could looks really elegant and bring a bit of freshness outfit.

Bows Galore

Autumn, we've been expecting you. (2)

Bows are another red hot trend this season and designers such as Emilia Wickstead and Marc Jacobs incorporated bows in their deisings in such a beautiful way. For some, this trend may seem a little too girly but we absolutely love it. We love that this trend can be incorporated and worn in so many ways. You can add a bow in your hair, on your sneakers, dress, tops, handbag the list goes on. It is a very wearable trend which can be worn in a very subtle way just adding a feminine touch to your outfit.

Animal Instinct

The animal print trend is not going anywhere this season and we are so happy about that. To be honest it took us a while to really embrace this trend when it resurfaced last year but we are now totally hooked and are still loving it so we are so glad it is here to stay. We love how designers such as Tom Ford has mixed up the leopard print with different textures and also incorporated the oatmeal tones with the print.

We are pretty sure that we will add more trends to this list as the year goes on as some trend need some time grow on you 😊
