What to wear this Season Autumn/Winter Trends 2018

Although the weather is still feeling quite summery, autumn is fast approaching and with it, the Autumn/winter fashion trends. What will we all be wearing the season? We’ve done a shortlist of our current favourite trends this Autumn/Winter 2018.

Animal prints

Embrace your animal instinct. The animal print has made a huge come back this autumn/winter and designers like Tom Ford, Carolina Herrera and Victoria Beckham are totally embracing their wild side this season. Although this is a huge trend, both of us have been a little vary of the animal print trend. Growing up in the early 90s, animal prints had it’s glory and had started to wear a little thin. We grew up associating this trend with crazy 80’s hairdos and women over indulging in over the top eye make-up which made us slight sceptical of this trend. We have however both learned that although every single fashion trend may not be for us, there are ways of incorporating certain trends, in a subtle, much more wearable way. Although we are not going to go full blown animal instinct on you, we do quite enjoy playing around with this trend using accessories and combining an animal print jumpsuit with black heeled ankle boots and all black accessories.

Pleats

Pleats Please – to us this trend feels quite summery but it’s actually pretty easy to transition the pleated dresses or skirts onto your autumn winter wardrobe. Style your skirt/dress with a woolen jumper with a mini half tuck, knee high boots and a dark coloured bag. Job done 😊

If your wardrobe is a little Pleats empty, we love this piece from SHEIN.co.uk for £13.99.

Tweed – Girl Boss

We would probably consider this as one of our favorite trends at the moment. Tweed never seem to go out of fashion and perhaps it’s because such a wearable trend. Dress for work in a pair of flats, jeans, a white shirt and a Tweed jacket. Feeling fancy? Dress this trend up with a 60@s inspired mini dress with a pair of ankle boots, a black oversized suit jacket and add a silver clutch.

We are totally crushing over these pieces from New Look

Scarf prints and silk

This trend just screams Versace. Breathing new life into the well known print trend, this elegant version is oh so chic and totally wearable. Although the over the top prints ala Versace may not be our thing, we do love the idea of pairing a oversized plain cosy jumper with a midi scarf printed skirt or adding a silk scarf to our hair or bag.

Blue printed silky plunge wrap shift dress missguided.co.uk £25.00

Hoods and Capes

Dare we say that this trend feels very Parisian and perhaps a little Assassins Creed inspired? This trend seems like the ultimate way to keep warm this winter without compromising on your style. Wearing a oversized cape may seem a little tricky to wear but we think that rather than going all out with an oversized Cape, we might just stick to a maxi trench with an oversized hood. Plus this is a great trend to protect you and your mane from the weather elements this fall.
